A Nice Article about Love - by Swami Vivekananda

A Nice Article about Love - by Swami Vivekananda

I once had a friend who grew to be very close to me. Once when we were sitting at the edge of a swimming pool, she filled the palm of her hand with some water and held it before me, and said this:
"You see this water carefully contained on my hand? It symbolizes Love."

This was how I saw it: As long as you keep your hand caringly open and allow it to remain there, it will always be there. However, if you attempt to close your fingers round it and try to posses it, it will spill through the first cracks it finds.

This is the greatest mistake that people do when they meet love...they try to posses it, they demand, they expect... and just like the water spilling out of your hand, love will retrieve from you .

For love is meant to be free, you cannot change its nature. If there are people you love, allow them to be free beings.

Give and don't expect.
Advise, but don't order.
Ask, but never demand.

It might sound simple, but it is a lesson that may take a lifetime to truly practice. It is the secret to true love. To truly practice it, you must sincerely feel no expectations from those who you love, and yet an unconditional caring."

Passing thought... Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take; but by the moments that take our breath away.....

Life is beautiful!!! Live it !!!

Ten things God won't ask

Ten things God won't ask:
1...God won"t ask what kind of car you drove;
He"ll ask how many people you drove who didn"t have transportation.
2...God won"t ask the square footage of your house,
He"ll ask how many people you welcomed into your home.
3...God won"t ask about the clothes you had in your closet,
He"ll ask how many you helped to clothe.
4...God won"t ask what your highest salary was,
He"ll ask if you compromised your character to obtain it.
5...God won"t ask what your job title was,
He"ll ask if you performed your job to the best of your ability.
6...God won"t ask how many friends you had,
He"ll ask how many people to whom you were a friend.
7...God won"t ask in what neighborhood you lived,
He"ll ask how you treated your neighbors.
8...God won"t ask about the color of your skin,
He"ll ask about the content of your character.
9...God won"t ask why it took you so long to seek Salvation,
He"ll lovingly take you to your mansion in heaven, and not to the gates of Hell.
10...God won"t ask how many people you forwarded this to,
He"ll ask if you were ashamed to pass it on to your friends.
Read Carefully
Happy moments, praise God.
Difficult moments, seek God.
Quiet moments, worship God.
Painful moments, trust God.
Every moment, thank God.

What is Love ?

What is Love? [LOVE 1]

Everyone admits that love is wonderful and necessary, yet no one agrees on just what it is.
I myself, too, don’t boast of knowing exactly what love is, and I don’t think there is any appropriate definition of love. One can just point out some features of it. In doing so, I may need to take help of some great minds:
“Love is an irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired.”
—Robert Frost.
This is what love is. If you think you can resist it, you’ll surely feel otherwise later.
“Love is an energy – it can neither be created nor destroyed. It just is and always will be.”
—Albert Einstein.
Now you see why you cannot resist it. This is also why you cannot create it. You must accept it as it is.
“Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.”
—Aristotle.
This is of course in case of Mutual Love. It needs sharing and mutual understanding, as we all know.
And now one for those who are more rational:
“Love is like pi (∏) — natural, irrational and very important.”
—Lisa Hoffman.
Do I need anything more to say? These are some examples of expressing what love is. But, in fact, all of us have different views on the same subject.
And one thing you must remember before falling in love:
“Love is much like a wild rose, beautiful and calm, but willing to draw blood in its defense.”
—Mark Overby.
